It's lame yes I know, but I want to explain what this blog is about. I'm a second year university student, studying Social Justice and Journalism. I sit in many (...all) of my lectures which at the moment are about the developing world, human rights, community etc and there is so many times where I hear people say things, events, people and I have no idea what they're talking about. I consider myself to be quite educated as I did history in high school and by the fact I got into uni (I must know something right?). But the truth is there a lot of things I don't know, that I want to know, random but important things such as the war in Iraq or Afghanistan, the genocide in Rwanda or warlords in Uganda (don't worry I don't support Kony 2012). I'm sick of sitting in lectures and being too scared to say anything because I don't feel educated enough to comment. So this blog is all about educating myself on important issues/events/people around the world. Every week (possibly) I will blog on a topic that I hear in class and hopefully be more knowledgeable by the end of it.
